Product Description

Ricci Carr was born in a small town in the North Island of New Zealand. From an early age music was a large part of her life. The whole family was involved in playing piano, singing and dancing. After a short career as a general nurse Ricci left New Zealand’s shores for Sydney where at a young age, she was able to develop her career
through Paddy Madden’s singing and acting academy. She enjoyed a long career in show business from public appearances and tours of NSW, Queensland and Victoria to singing on cruise ships and on the NSW Leagues and RSL club circuit. In the 1960s she sang for the US armed forces in Vietnam. Her singing led to offers of work around Southeast Asia after which she went back to Australia to live in Sydney before returning to New Zealand.
In New Zealand Ricci performed her own cabaret shows as well as grand piano solos with vocals at numerous international hotels. She recorded NZBC radio concerts, taught students privately and recorded her own original songs in the Lifetimes album. This book is the culmination of more than 45 years of Ricci’s tried and true experience for the person, regardless of age, who wants to sing a modern song and sing it well. I can sing but where is my voice? is a practical guide for the beginner and the seasoned performer.
